Online Psychological Counseling in Farsi for Persian-Speaking Communities

Our psychological experiences are deeply connected to the language, culture, and environments in which we have lived and grown. Even when we are born or raised in another country, our family’s cultural background can continue to shape our identity, relationships, and experiences in meaningful ways. For many Persian-speaking people living abroad, migration can also bring profound changes in relationships, sense of belonging, identity, family and social roles, and the ways we navigate stress and difficult experiences. Being able to explore these experiences in Farsi, in a space where cultural context and the experience of migration are recognized and understood, can be an important part of psychological counseling and the process of healing.

I provide online psychological counseling in Farsi through a trauma-informed approach. Alongside each person’s individual concerns and needs, our work considers the ways past experiences, relationships, culture, migration, and present circumstances may shape their lives today. My professional experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, particularly in the areas of trauma, migration, and work with migrant communities, informs the framework through which I support each person.

Trauma-Informed Care Begins with a Simple Question: What Lies Beneath the Suffering?

In a trauma-informed approach, the goal is not simply to reduce symptoms. What matters is gradually restoring a sense of safety, developing a safer relationship with the body, gently making sense of past experiences at a manageable pace, and recognizing how relationships, family, and culture can shape each person’s experience.

In trauma-informed psychological counseling, the pace of the sessions is guided by each person’s needs, capacity, and readiness. The psychologist works alongside the client, with the understanding that each person retains agency and plays the central role in their own healing process.
